Advancement International Video (AIV-Video.Com) was born from a marriage of an English Engineer and an American with TV repairshop and marketing experience in 1983.
Founder Charles Ridley BSME, came over from England in 1979 with a British machine tool company. After seeing that VHS and Beta sales videos that were coming over from England had to be converted at a high cost by big city labs, the need for affordable foreign conversions became clear.
He built an custom opto-digital converter using a digital frame store with parts from RadioShack with design support from a talanted signal processing mathmatician, neighbor Ron Walters.
As electronics progressed, so did AIV's conversion business, moving into fully digital conversions as prosumer eqipment became available.
Ruth, worked along side him, learning the technical side while doing the office adminstration and shipping, and moved into the Lab Manager position.
In 1990 video duplication services were added along with 8mm Film Transfers, 16mm Film Transfers, Picture to Video & Slides to video and video tape repairs. Then came CD and DVD authoring, CD duplication, DVD duplication, & Video Editing.
AIV invests in professional digital based video processing equipment using both high end PCs and dedicated hardware teamed with video software to bring you a wide range of image input and output options to meet your needs.
AIV remains a specialist in World video standards to help you navigate through the PAL/SECAM and NTSC video standards that still differentiate all video tape and DVD discs around the World.
